Members of Parliament have advocated reforming the BBC's fee structure. They recommend lowering costs and expanding funding to include areas beyond television. MPs also suggest ending the BBC's charter process and stopping the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a important juncture. The recommendations come amid persistent talks about the broadcaster's next steps.
